also the fact that not a single character on glee is canonly bisexual

#don’t say brittany is she has no canon sexuality and her entire character is a joke

^^ but really, do not say Brittany. For one thing, she seems incapable of giving consent (her losing her virginity story was rape and she doesn’t even seem to understand that, and it was played for a joke which is sickening) so I don’t really feel comfortable sexualizing her and she has always seemed to more be ‘confused’. Which is FINE. A representation of a character unsure of their sexuality is awesome. But it’s not a representation of bisexuality.

It wouldn’t be so bad if it was just that none of the characters happened to be bisexual. I mean, it’d suck but it wouldn’t be offensive. However they had to go and put ‘bisexuality isn’t real’ into a character’s mouth and then prove it in the same episode. Blaine did exactly what Kurt said, proving his little stereotype that bisexuals aren’t real. And Glee has never shown another character to disprove that. Worse, they’ve had another character say they’re bi (pan?) in one episode and a few episodes later considered herself a lesbian.

Yes, sexuality is confusing. And it is fine for a real person to change how they view him or herself. I’ve questioned whether I’m bisexual or a lesbian plenty of times. But if Glee is going to claim bisexuality isn’t real and then never show a bisexual character is offensive.

tbh, the problem I have with people acting like we should suck it up because Brittany is apparently bisexual is that her bisexuality is written as it being kind of “ohmygod this girl is so dumb she doesn’t know she has to pick a side” and “ohmygod she’s such a slut she goes with boys and girls”, which are the two biggest stereotypes thrown at bisexuals.

I understand that in real life, people can identify as bi then as lesbian or the other way around, but on tv, without proper development, it comes off as really shitty writing. It’d be like if Kurt suddenly identified as bisexual in the next episode - sure, it could happen irl, but on tv, it’d be erasing a major part of his character without explanation.
